What GhostDesk collects
GhostDesk itself collects no personal data. Your conversations, screenshots, and voice recordings are processed locally on your machine or sent to third-party AI providers (Groq, OpenAI, or Deepgram depending on your plan) for processing. We do not intercept, store, or log any of this content.
AI processing
Your prompts are relayed through our server to the AI provider for your plan (Groq for free plans, OpenAI for paid plans). We do not log prompt content. We log request metadata (timestamp, token count) for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Metadata logs are retained for 30 days.
Licensing & accounts
When you purchase a license, we collect your email address and payment information via Stripe. Stripe handles all payment processing — we never see your full card number. Your email is used solely for license delivery and critical product updates.
Analytics
The GhostDesk website uses no third-party analytics, no cookies, and no tracking scripts. The desktop application sends no telemetry unless you explicitly opt in to crash reporting in Settings.
Crash reporting (opt-in)
If enabled, crash reports include stack traces, OS version, and app version. They do not include conversation content or screenshots. Reports are sent to our error tracking service and retained for 90 days.
Third-party AI providers
Depending on your plan, GhostDesk sends prompts and screen captures to Groq, OpenAI, or Deepgram for processing. Your data is subject to each provider's respective privacy and usage policies.
Data deletion
All conversation history is stored locally on your machine. Delete it anytime by clearing the app data folder or uninstalling GhostDesk. To delete your account and licensing data, email hello@ghostdesk.app.

If you use GhostDesk in a context where AI assistance is prohibited — such as exams, interviews, or proctored assessments — you do so at your own risk.
